About Rona Fourté
Executive Director, Chicago Minority Business Opportunity Center (Chicago MBOC)

Rona joined the Chicago MBOC as its Executive Director in May 2006. In this capacity, Rona and her staff broker transactions for minority business enterprises (MBEs) that create impact. The MBOC is funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and the Chicago Minority Business Development Council, Inc. (CMBDC) is the center’s operator.

Rona received her formal training in supplier diversity as a Senior Consultant with Ralph G. Moore & Associates, Inc. for 6 years. In this capacity, Rona worked on many visible state and local projects, including the Boeing Corporation World Headquarters Relocation project, Northwestern University Lurie Medical Research Center project, Illinois Department of Transportation Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Management & Technical Assistance program, Chicago Transit Authority Business Development program and the City of Chicago Department of Transportation South Lake Shore Drive Reconstruction project. In these diverse assignments, Rona worked closely with corporate executives, government agencies, general contractors, supplier diversity program managers, and the community to assist in advancing business diversity efforts.

Prior to transitioning to Supplier Diversity, Rona worked for over 10 years in management level accounting positions within the real estate, transportation, and manufacturing industries.

Rona currently serves on the board of the Chicago Minority Business Development Council, is co-chair for this years regional Minority Enterprise Development Week event, is a host committee member of the American Contract Compliance Association 20th year National Training, and a member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy – Chicago Chapter. Rona is equally as active within her church as an Ordained Minister and in her community; frequently with the youth and young adult population.

A graduate of DePaul University with a major in Business Administration and Accounting, Rona also holds a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Ministry and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Biblical Leadership.

Rona is married with 4 children and she enjoys every spare moment with her friends and family.
